及劉鄩失河朔，安彥之喪楊劉，翔奏曰：「國家連年遣將出征，封疆日削，不獨兵驕將怯，亦製置未得其術。 After Liu Xun lost Hebei and An Yanzhi lost Yangliu, Xiang memorialized: "Year after year we send armies abroad while our borders shrink—not only are the troops arrogant and the generals timid; our strategy is wrong as well.
