隋季與鄉人操師乞起為盜。 Near the end of the Sui he and a townsman, Cao Shiji, turned bandit.

師乞自號元興王，建元天成，大業十二年據豫章，以士弘為大將軍。 Shiji called himself King Yuanxing with the era Tiancheng; in the twelfth year of Daye he seized Yuzhang and made Shihong his Grand General.

隋遣治書侍御史劉子翊討賊，射殺師乞，而士弘收其眾，復戰彭蠡，子翊敗，死之。 The court sent Investigative Censor Liu Ziyi, who killed Shiji in battle; Shihong rallied the remnant, met Liu again on Poyang Lake, and slew him.
