莊烈帝既誅忠賢，得銓罷官後壽忠賢百韻詩，論杖徒，贖為民。 After the Chongzhen Emperor executed Zhongxian, a hundred-rhyme birthday poem Quan had written for Zhongxian after his dismissal came to light; he was sentenced to beating and penal servitude, then ransomed back to commoner status.
