父涿，唐末為刑部郎中。 His father Zhuo was a bureau director in the Ministry of Justice at the end of Tang.

棁性至孝，其父涿病，不肯服藥，曰：「死生有命，何用藥為？」 Zhuo was profoundly filial. When his father Zhuo fell ill, he refused medicine and said: "Life and death are fated. What use is medicine?"

每賓客問疾者，棁輒迎拜門外，泣涕而告之，涿終不服藥而卒。 Whenever guests came to inquire after his father's health, Zhuo would meet them at the gate with bows and tears. The father never took medicine and died.
