莊宗之平常山，明宗之襲汶陽，密皆從征有功。 When Emperor Zhuangzong pacified Changshan and when Mingzong raided Wenyang, Mi followed both campaigns with merit.

明宗即位，累遷河東馬步軍副都指揮使。 When Mingzong came to the throne, he was repeatedly promoted to deputy commander of the Hedong mounted and infantry armies.
