太祖入奉大統，以少帝見害，疑不敢下。 When the Taizu entered to receive the grand succession, he hesitated to come down because the young emperor had been murdered.

華建議曰：「羨之等受寄崇重，未容便敢背德，廢主若存，慮其將來受禍，致此殺害。 Hua advised: "Xu Xianzhi and the others had received a weighty charge and high honor; they could hardly have dared to rebel openly. If the deposed ruler had lived, they feared he would suffer harm later—that is why he was killed.

且三人勢均，莫相推伏，不過欲握權自固，以少主仰待耳。 Moreover, the three were evenly matched and none would yield; they only wished to hold power and secure themselves, counting on the young ruler's dependence on them.
