高祖督徐州，轉主簿，仍為世子中軍參軍。 When Gaozu governed Xuzhou, Bingzhi was transferred to chief clerk and then served as adjutant in the heir's central army.

宋受禪，隨例為員外散騎侍郎，補太子詹事丞。 When the Song received the mandate, he became attendant cavalier at the secretariat outside the palace by precedent and was appointed aide to the grand tutor of the heir.

少帝即位，入為尚書都官郎，出為永世、烏程令，以善政著名東土。 When Emperor Shaodi ascended the throne, he entered office as gentleman of the punishments section and was sent out as magistrate of Yongshi and Wucheng, becoming famed in the eastern region for good governance.
