玄宗崩,肅宗疾甚,詔晉卿攝冢宰,固讓曰:「大行遺詔,皇帝三日聽政,稽祖宗故事,則無冢宰之文,奉遺詔則宜聽朝。 When Emperor Xuanzong died and Emperor Suzong was gravely ill, an edict appointed Jinqing acting chief minister (zhongzai); he firmly declined, saying: "The late emperor's testamentary edict states that the emperor shall hold court after three days; consulting ancestral precedent, there is no provision for a chief minister; following the testamentary edict, he should attend court.
