上元三年，肅宗召瑱入京。 In the third year of Shangyuan, Suzong then summoned Zhen to the capital.

肅宗聞其計而惡之。 Suzong learned of the maneuver and resented it.

肅宗然之，遂以瑱檢校戶部尚書、兼御史大夫、安州刺史，充淮西申、安、蘄、黃、光、沔節度觀察，兼河南陳、豫、許、鄭、汴、曹、宋、潁、泗十五州節度觀察使，外示尊崇，實奪其權也。 Suzong agreed. Zhen was named acting Minister of Revenue with broad titular commands over Huai-Xi and Henan—honor on paper that stripped his real authority.
