僖宗立，授兵部侍郎、諸道鹽鐵轉運使。 When Emperor Xizong came to the throne, Yanhao was appointed Vice Minister of War and Commissioner for Salt and Iron Transport on all circuits.

帝因下詔暴收等過惡，申勵丁寧，以成其美。 The emperor therefore issued an edict exposing the crimes of Shou and the others, urging the court with repeated admonitions so that their reforms might be brought to completion.

僖宗嗣位，再遷尚書左僕射。 When Xizong succeeded to the throne, Ye was twice promoted to Left Vice Director of the Secretariat.

帝西狩，追乘輿不及，與崔沆、豆盧瑑匿將軍張直方家，賊捕急，三人不肯臣，俱見殺。 When the emperor went west on campaign, Ye could not overtake the imperial carriage. Together with Cui Hang and Doulu Zuan he hid in the home of General Zhang Zhifang. When the rebels pressed their search, the three men refused to submit and were all put to death.
