懿宗咸通十年，神策大将军康承训统十八将讨庞勋于徐州，以朱邪赤心为太原行营招讨沙陀三部落军使。 In the tenth year of Xiantong (869), Kang Chengxun, grand general of the Shence Armies, took eighteen generals against Pang Xun at Xuzhou and named the Zhuye Chixin commander of the Shatuo and allied tribal forces marching from Taiyuan.

沙陀素强，而国昌恃功益横恣，懿宗患之。 The Shatuo were already a fierce power, and Guochang’s battlefield triumphs made him increasingly overbearing. Yizong grew alarmed.
