敏素善馮道，道為唐莊宗從事，乃潛往依之。 Min had long been on good terms with Feng Dao. When Dao became an aide to Emperor Zhuangzong of Tang, Min secretly went to join him.

莊宗即位，召拜司門員外郎。 When Zhuangzong took the throne, Min was summoned and appointed Assistant Director of the Gate Office.
