與呼延族、莫多婁敬顯、尉相願同謀，期正月五日，孝珩於千秋門斬高阿那肱，相願在內以禁兵應之，族與敬顯自遊豫園勒兵出。 He joined with Huyan Zu, Moduolou Jingxian, and Wei Xiangyuan in a common plot, fixing the fifth day of the first month: Xiaoheng was to behead Gao Anaogong at the Gate of a Thousand Autumns; Xiangyuan inside would respond with the forbidden guard; Zu and Jingxian would lead troops out from the Pleasure Garden.

既而阿那肱從別宅取便路入宮，事不果。 Before long Anaogong took a shortcut from another residence into the palace, and the affair did not succeed.

乃求出拒西軍，謂阿那肱、韓長鸞、陳德信等云：「朝廷不賜遣擊賊，豈不畏孝珩反耶？ He then asked to go out to resist the western army, saying to Anaogong, Han Changluan, Chen Dexin, and the others, "The court will not grant permission to go out and strike the enemy — are you not afraid Xiaoheng will rebel?

高、韓恐其變，出孝珩為滄州刺史。 Gao and Han, fearing he might change, sent Xiaoheng out as Governor of Cang Province.

怒曰：「由高阿那肱小人，吾道窮矣！」 In anger he said, "Because of the petty man Gao Anaogong, my road is at an end!"

屬周師來寇，丞相高阿那肱率兵赴援，邕配割不甚從允，因此有隙。 When Zhou troops came to raid, Chancellor Gao Anaigong led an army to relieve the siege; Tang Yong's supply allotments were not fully approved, and the two fell out.

高阿那肱，善無人也。 Gao Anagujin was a native of Shanwu.

那肱為庫典，從征討，以功勤擢為武衛將軍。 Anagujin began as a storehouse clerk, campaigned with the army, and rose to General of Martial Guards for his service.

肱妙於騎射，便僻善事人，每宴射之次，大為世祖所愛重。 Expert at mounted archery and winning favor, he was a favorite at Shizu's hunts and banquets.

後主卽位，累遷幷省尚書左僕射，封淮陰王，又除幷省尚書令。 Under the Later Lord he rose to Left Vice Director and then Director of the Combined Provinces Department of State Affairs and Prince of Huaiyin.

肱才伎庸劣，不涉文史，識用尤在士開之下，而姦巧計數亦不逮士開。 Mediocre in talent and ignorant of letters, he was duller and less cunning even than Shikai.

尚書郎中源師嘗諮肱云：「龍見，當雩。」 Yuan Shi of the Department of State Affairs told Anagujin, "A dragon has appeared—we must perform a rain sacrifice."

問師云：「何處龍見？ Anagujin asked, "Where was it seen?

肱云：「漢兒強知星宿！」 Anagujin snapped, "Han dogs playing astronomer!"

周師逼平陽，後主於天池校獵，晉州頻遣馳奏，從旦至午，驛馬三至，肱云：「大家正作樂，何急奏聞。」 While Zhou armies closed on Pingyang, the Later Lord hunted at Tianchi; Jinzhou sent three urgent dispatches by noon, and Anagujin said, "His Majesty is at play—why the alarm?"

及軍赴晉州，令肱率前軍先進，仍總節度諸軍。 Marching on Jinzhou, Anagujin led the vanguard and overall command.

肱曰：「勿戰，卻守高梁橋。」 Anagujin said, "Do not fight—fall back to Gaoliang Bridge."

有軍士告稱那肱遣臣招引西軍，今故聞奏。 A soldier reported that Anagujin had sent him to summon Zhou forces.

還至晉，那肱腹心告肱謀反，又以為妄，斬之。 Back at Jin, a confidant accused Anagujin of treason; again the charge was dismissed and the accuser executed.

乃顛沛還鄴，侍衛逃散，唯那肱及內官數十騎從行。 They fled in disorder to Ye; the guard scattered, and only Anagujin and a few dozen inner attendants rode with the emperor.

後主走度太行，令那肱以數千人投濟州關，仍遣覘候。 Crossing the Taihang, the Later Lord sent Anagujin with several thousand men to Jizhou Pass and ordered scouts ahead.

及周將軍尉遲迥至關，肱遂降。 When Zhou General Yuchi Jiong reached the pass, Anagujin surrendered.

時人皆云肱表款周武，必仰生致齊主，故不速報兵至，使後主被擒。 Contemporaries said Anagujin had pledged to Zhou and delayed reporting the enemy so the Qi ruler could be taken alive.

肱至長安，授大將軍，封郡公，為隆州刺史，誅。 In Chang'an he was made Grand General and a commandery duke, then Governor of Longzhou—and executed.

是時茹茹主阿那瑰在塞北強盛，顯祖尤忌之，所以每歲討擊，後亡齊者遂屬阿那肱云。 The Rouran ruler Anagujin then dominated the northern frontier and Xianzu feared him; years later Qi's destroyer proved to be Gao Anagujin.

軍國要密，無不經手，與高阿那肱、穆提婆共處衡軸，號曰三貴，損國害政，日月滋甚。 Every state secret passed through his hands; with Gao Anagujin and Mu Tipo he formed the "Three Nobles" at the helm, ruining government daily.
