高儉，字士廉，以字顯，齊清河王岳之孫，父勵樂安王，入隋為洮州刺史。 Gao Jian, whose courtesy name Shilian was the name by which he was known, was a grandson of Prince Yue of Qinghe under the Northern Qi. His father Li held the title Prince of Le'an and, after the Sui unification, became prefect of Tao.
