晉高祖起太原，廢帝北征，過拜徽陵，休仗舍，顧文紀曰：「吾自鳳翔識卿，不以常人為待，自卿為相，詢於輿議，皆云可致太平，今日使吾至此，卿宜如何？」 When Gaozu of Jin rose in Taiyuan, Emperor Fei marched north. Passing by to pay respects at Huiling, he rested in the guard quarters and turned to Wenji: "I knew you from Fengxiang and did not treat you as an ordinary man. Since you became chancellor, I inquired among public opinion, and all said you could bring about great peace. Today you have brought me to this point; what should you do?"
