三年春，帥其所部與韓令坤先入揚州，軍聲甚振，尋命以別部屯於盛唐，前後敗淮賊萬餘眾。 In the spring of the third year he and Han Lingkun led their troops into Yangzhou first, and the army's fame spread far. Soon he was ordered to station a separate force at Shengtang and in repeated engagements routed more than ten thousand Huai rebels.
