何准，字幼道，穆章皇后父也。 He Zhun, courtesy name Youdao, was the father of Empress Muzhang.

兄充為驃騎將軍，勸其令仕，准曰：「第五之名何滅驃騎？」 His elder brother He Chong, General Who Gallops as if Flying, urged him to serve; He Zhun replied, "How is the fifth son’s name any less than General Who Gallops as if Flying?"

准兄弟中第五，故有此言。 Zhun was the fifth of the brothers, which explains the remark.

充居宰輔之重，權傾一時，而准散帶衡門，不及人事，唯誦佛經，修營塔廟而已。 While He Chong wielded chief-ministerial power, He Zhun wore a loosened sash behind a humble gate, ignored public affairs, and devoted himself to Buddhist scripture and temple building.
