臨晉籍少公素不知解，解冒，因求出關。 Ji Shaogong of Linjin had never met Guo Jie. Guo Jie approached him under a false name and through him arranged to slip past the border checkpoint.

籍少公已出解，解轉入太原，所過輒告主人家。 After Ji Shaogong had helped him through the checkpoint, Guo Jie traveled on into Taiyuan, revealing his identity to his hosts at each stop along the way.

吏逐之，跡至籍少公。 The authorities pursued him and traced his trail back to Ji Shaogong.

少公自殺，口絕。 Ji Shaogong killed himself, sealing the secret with his death.
