上表固辭曰：「臣聞古者殷高宗在諒闇之中，百官聽於冢宰，更無事跡，但存文字。 He submitted a firm refusal, writing: 'I have read that in antiquity, when King Gaozong of the Yin was in mourning seclusion, the hundred officials took their orders from the regent—but beyond that tradition we have only written records, not living precedent.
