光典幼慧，八歲能詩，隨父官江南，所師友多當代名儒，聞見日擴，名亦日起。 Precocious as a child, he was writing poetry at eight. Following his father to a post in Jiangnan, he studied with many leading scholars of the day, and his reputation grew steadily.
