景耀元年卒，後主痛惜，發言流涕，乃下詔曰：「祗統職一紀，柔嘉惟則，幹肅有章，和義利物，庶績允明。 He died in the first year of the Jingyao era. The Later Lord grieved deeply, wept as he spoke, and issued an edict: "Zhi held office for a full twelve years; gentle and good, he was a model; dignified and orderly, his conduct was manifest; harmonious and righteous, he benefited things and men; his many achievements were clear and bright.

自祗之有寵，後主追怨允日深，謂為自輕，由祗媚茲一人，皓構間浸潤故耳。 From the time Chen Zhi gained favor, the Later Lord's resentment toward Dong Yun grew daily deeper; he thought himself undervalued—because Chen Zhi flattered this one man and Huang Hao wove intrigues and gradually poisoned his ear.
