至是，有回鶻將軍李暢者，曉習中國事，知不能以法制馭，益驕恣。 At this time a Uyghur general named Li Chang, who understood Chinese ways, realized that the frontier could not control his men by law and became even more arrogant and unrestrained.

載義因召李暢與語曰：「可汗使將軍朝貢，以固舅甥之好，不當使將軍暴踐中華。 Zaiyi summoned Li Chang and said to him, "The qaghan sent you to pay tribute and strengthen the bond between uncle and nephew. He did not send you to rampage through the Central Realm.
