十二月，美等攻韶州，都統李承渥以兵數萬陣蓮華山下。 In the twelfth month Mei and the others attacked Shao Prefecture; Commander-in-Chief Li Chengwo drew up an army of tens of thousands below Lianhua Mountain.

至是與美遇，美盡索軍中勁弩布前以射之，象奔踶，乘象者皆墜，反踐承渥軍，遂大敗，承渥僅以身免。 Now they met Mei, who gathered every powerful crossbow in the army and arrayed them forward to shoot; the elephants stampeded, their riders fell, and they trampled Chengwo's army in turn — utter defeat; Chengwo barely escaped with his life.
