邢州節度使閻寶請以城降，以忻州刺史、蕃漢副總管李存審為邢州節度使，以閻寶為西南面招討使，遙領天平軍節度使。 Yan Bao of Xing offered surrender; Cunshen of Xin became commissioner of Xing, and Bao became southwest campaign commander with a nominal Tianping commission.

乃以李存審為滄州節度使，以李嗣源為邢州節度使。 Cunshen became commissioner of Cang and Siyuan commissioner of Xing.

時李存審請急救燕、薊，且曰：「我若猶豫，未行，但恐城中生事！」 Li Cunshen then begged for swift relief of Yan and Ji, saying, "If I hold back and do not go, the city may revolt before we arrive!"
