李茂貞遣梁叛將劉知俊攻邠州，彥威固守逾年，每獲知俊兵，必縱還之，知俊德之，後不復攻。 Li Maozhen sent the Liang turncoat Liu Zhijun against Bin. Yanwei held a year and more; every captive he sent back. Zhijun owed him and never struck again.
