太和二年，滄景節度使李全略卒，其子同捷竊據軍城，表邀符節，舉兵伐之。 In the second year of Taihe, Li Quanlue, military governor of Cangjing, died; his son Tongjie seized the garrison city and memorialized for the commander's seal and baton, whereupon the court mobilized an army against him.

先是，憲誠與全略婚媾，及同捷叛，復潛以糧餉爲助。 Xiancheng had earlier been linked to Quanlue by marriage; when Tongjie rebelled, he again secretly supplied him with grain and fodder.

憲誠嘗遣驍將至闕下，恣爲張大，宰相韋處厚以語折剉之，憲誠不敢復與同捷爲應。 Xiancheng once sent bold generals to the capital who swaggered without restraint; Grand Councilor Wei Chuhou put them down with sharp words, and Xiancheng no longer dared to act in concert with Tongjie.

時憲誠示出師共討同捷。 For a time Xiancheng made a show of marching out to join the campaign against Tongjie.

太和二年，滄景節度使李全略卒，其子同捷竊據軍城，表邀符節，舉兵伐之。 In Taihe 2 (828) the Cangjing military governor Li Quanlue died. His son Tongjie seized the garrison city, petitioned for the commissioner's credentials, and an army was raised to campaign against him.

先是，憲誠與全略婚媾，及同捷叛，復潛以糧餉為助。 Xiancheng had earlier been connected to Quanlue by marriage. When Tongjie rebelled, he secretly sent him grain and supplies.

憲誠嘗遣驍將至闕下，恣為張大，宰相韋處厚以語折剉之，憲誠不敢復與同捷為應。 Xiancheng once sent bold generals to the capital to boast of his power. Grand Councilor Wei Chuhou rebuked them sharply, and Xiancheng dared not coordinate with Tongjie again.

時憲誠示出師共討同捷。 Xiancheng then made a show of taking the field against Tongjie.
