時淮西節度使李忠臣入觀，次潼關，聞智光阻兵，駐所部將往禦之。 Huai-Xi governor Li Zhongchen was then coming to court, halted at Tong Pass, and on hearing of the revolt moved to oppose Zhiguang.

及智光死，忠臣進兵入華州大掠，自赤水至潼關二百里間，畜產財物殆盡，官吏至有著紙衣或數日不食者。 After Zhiguang's death Zhongchen marched into Hua and looted savagely. For two hundred li from Chishui to Tong Pass little property remained; some officials wore paper garments or starved for days.
