立二十六年卒，子建立為王。 After twenty-six years on the throne he died, and his son Jian was established as king in his stead.

七年自殺。 Seven years later, Jian took his own life.

淮南、衡山謀反時，建頗聞其謀。 When the kings of Huainan and Hengshan were plotting rebellion, Jian had caught wind of their conspiracy.

易王死未葬，建有所說易王寵美人淖姬，夜使人迎與姦服舍中。 Before King Yi had even been laid to rest, Jian became enamored of the late king's favored consort, Lady Nao. Under cover of night he sent men to bring her to his quarters, where he took her as his own.

及淮南事發，治黨與頗及江都王建。 When the Huainan conspiracy was uncovered, the investigation of its accomplices extended to implicate King Jian of Jiangdu.

建恐，因使人多持金錢，事絕其獄。 Jian grew alarmed and dispatched agents laden with gold and coin to bribe officials and quash the proceedings against him.
