左僕射劉句等議曰：「令於喪服無正文，而嫂服給大功假，乃假寧附令，而敕無年月，請凡喪服皆以《開元禮》為定，下太常具五服制度，附於令。」 Left vice director Liu Xu and others argued: "The statute has no main text on mourning garments, and dagong leave for a sister-in-law is only leave attached to the statute, while the edict has no year or month. We request that all mourning garments be fixed according to the Kaiyuan Rites, and that the Court of Imperial Sacrifices be ordered to prepare the five mourning-grade system and attach it to the statute."
