十二年，莊宗定魏博，劉鄩據莘縣，命嗣本入太原巡守都城，十三年，從破劉鄩於故元城，收洺、磁、衛三郡。 In the twelfth year Zhuangzong secured Weibo while Liu Xun held Shen County. Siben was ordered into Taiyuan to guard the capital. In the thirteenth year he helped defeat Liu Xun at Old Yuancheng and recovered Ming, Ci, and Wei.
