彥等不遜，投詔於地，侮罵詔使，因迫德倫飛奏，請卻復相、衛，抽退劉鄩軍。 Yan defied the court, trampled the edict, cursed the envoy, and made Delun demand Xiang and Wei back and Liu Yan's withdrawal.

況今劉鄩指鎮、定出征，康懷英往邠、岐進討，隻令統率師旅，亦無招討使銜。 Liu Yan fights Zhen and Ding; Kang Huaiying Bin and Qi—neither bears Pacification.

是月，劉鄩自洹水潛師由黃澤路西趨晉陽，至樂平縣，值霖雨積旬，乃班師還。 That month Liu Yan stole march from Huan River toward Jinyang by Huangze; rains trapped him at Leping ten days and he withdrew.

翌日，鄩移軍於莘。 Next day Yan shifted camp to Xin.
