貞明元年，魏博節度使楊師厚卒，末帝分魏、相等六州為兩鎮，遣劉鄩將兵萬人屯於魏。 In Zhenming 1, when Shihou died, the Later Emperor split Weibo and sent Liu Yan with ten thousand to Wei.

魏軍叛降晉，源德為鄩守貝州。 Weibo mutinied to Jin; Yuande held Beizhou for Yan.

已而劉鄩大敗於故元城，南走黎陽，六鎮數十州之地皆歸晉，獨貝一州，圍之逾年不可下。 When Liu Yan was routed at Old Yuancheng and fled, Hebei fell to Jin—all but Bei, besieged more than a year.
