胡衍曰：「公釋蒲勿攻，臣試為公入言之，以德衛君。」 Huyan said, "My lord should release Pu and not attack it. I will try to go in and speak on your behalf, to win favor with the Lord of Wey."

因效金三百斤，曰：「秦兵茍退，請必言子於衛君，使子為南面。」 He presented three hundred jin of gold, saying, "If the Qin troops withdraw, I will certainly speak on your behalf to the Lord of Wey and make you face south as a ruler."
