三年正月，總督陸建瀛至九江，芾移守瑞昌，賊來犯，擊走之，而九江遂陷，革職留任，退守南昌。 In the first month of the third year Governor-General Lu Jianying arrived at Jiujiang. Fei moved to defend Ruichang, beat back a rebel attack, but Jiujiang then fell. Fei was dismissed from office but kept on duty and fell back to Nanchang.
