炅收滍水敗眾，守南陽孤城，每蹈危機，竟效死節，料敵雖非其良將，事君不失為忠臣。 Jiong rallied the broken army at the Zhi, held lonely Nanyang, faced death again and again, and in the end died faithful. He was no master of strategy, but he did not fail his sovereign.

贊曰：魯炅竭節，來瑱枉死。 In praise: Lu Jiong gave his all; Lai Zhen died unjustly.
