學士使馬從皓逼偓求草，偓曰：「腕可斷，麻不可草！」 The academician's envoy Ma Conghao pressed Wo to draft the edict. Wo said, "My wrist may be cut off, but I will not draft this edict!"

從皓曰：「君求死邪？」 Conghao said, "Do you seek death, sir?"

從皓讓偓曰：「南司輕北司甚，君乃崔胤、王溥所薦，今日北司雖殺之可也。 Conghao reproached Wo, saying, "The southern offices hold the northern offices in great contempt. You were recommended by Cui Yin and Wang Pu. Today the northern offices could kill you without consequence.
