晨詣爨室，卒有暴風，婦便上堂從姑求歸，辭其二親。 One morning, as she entered the kitchen, a violent wind suddenly arose. She went to the hall and asked her mother-in-law to let her return home to bid farewell to her parents.

姑不許，乃跪而泣曰：「家世傳術，疾風卒起，先吹灶突及井，此禍為婦女主爨者，妾將亡之應。」 The mother-in-law refused; kneeling, she wept, 'Our family reads omens: a sudden gale that hits the chimney and well first marks the cook's doom—I am the one who will die.'
