丁母憂，退居東畿，哀毀過禮。 He mourned his mother in the eastern suburbs, his grief so deep it outstripped the rites.

文蔚沈邃重厚，有大臣之風，居家孝且悌，雖位至清顯，與仲季相雜，在太夫人膝下，一不異布素。 Deep, grave, and weighty, he bore a great minister's air; at home he was filial and fraternal. Though he had risen to the highest offices, he sat among his brothers at their mother's knee like any man in plain cloth.
