天保四年九月，契丹犯塞，文宣帝親討之，至平州，乃趨長壍。長壍壍原誤「漸」，據北齊書四文宣紀及北史九四契丹傳改。司徒潘相樂率精騎五千，自東道趨青山；安德王韓軌帥騎四千東斷走路。帝親踰山嶺奮擊，虜男女十餘萬，雜畜數十萬。相樂又於青山大破別部，所虜生口分置諸州。復為突厥所逼，又以萬家寄處高麗境內。 In the ninth month of Tianbao year 4 the Khitan breached the border; Emperor Wenxuan led the campaign in person as far as Pingzhou, then pushed on to Changzhang — the graph "zhang" was wrongly written "jian," per Northern Qi Annals and Beishi 94. Pan Le (written Pan Xiangle here), Minister of Works, took five thousand picked horsemen along the eastern road toward Qingshan, while Prince Ande Han Gui with four thousand cavalry blocked the eastern escape. The emperor himself stormed over the ridges and seized more than a hundred thousand people and vast herds of livestock. At Qingshan Pan Le routed another tribal division and the captives were settled across the provinces. Harried again by the Turks, another ten thousand households were resettled inside Goguryeo's borders.
