《五代史闕文》：明宗令翟光鄴、李從璋誅重誨於河中私第，從璋奮楇擊重誨於地，重誨曰：「某死無恨，但恨不與官家誅得潞王，他日必為朝廷之患。」 (The 《Lost Texts of the History of the Five Dynasties》: Mingzong ordered Zhai Guangye and Li Congzhang to kill Chonghui at his Hedong mansion; Congzhang felled him with a mace; Chonghui said, "I die without regret—only that I did not help the Emperor kill the Prince of Lu; he will plague the court hereafter."

臣謹案：《明宗實錄》是清泰帝朝修撰，潞王即清泰帝也。 I note: the 《Veritable Records of Mingzong》 was edited under Emperor Qingtai; the Prince of Lu is Qingtai.

未幾，鳳翔變起，西軍不利，義誠懼，乃請行，蓋欲盡率駕下諸軍送降於潞王求免也。 Soon the Fengxiang revolt broke out; the western army fared badly; Yicheng, afraid, asked to march—likely meaning to lead the emperor's troops in surrender to the Prince of Lu to save himself.

及義誠率軍至新安，諸軍爭先趨陝，解甲迎降，義誠以部下數十人見潞王請罪，潞王雖罪其奸回，未欲行法。 When Yicheng reached Xin'an, the troops raced to Shan, laid down arms, and surrendered; Yicheng came with several dozen men to beg pardon of the Prince of Lu; though the prince blamed his treachery, he did not yet punish him.

時末帝已至華州，令拘於獄，誅之。 The Last Emperor was at Hua; he was jailed and killed.

〈（《通鑒》：潞王至靈寶，思立謀固守陝城以俟康義誠。 (From the Comprehensive Mirror: When Prince Lu reached Lingbao, Sili planned to hold Shaan city and await Kang Yicheng.

先是，捧聖五百騎戍陝，為潞王前鋒，至城下，呼城上人曰：「禁軍十萬已奉新帝，爾輩數人奚為！ Earlier, five hundred Pingsheng cavalry had garrisoned Shaan as the Prince of Lu's vanguard. Reaching the foot of the wall, they shouted up, "A hundred thousand men of the imperial guard have already acclaimed the new emperor. What are you few men still doing here!

潞王行及陝州，乃悉召諸妓妾訣別，欲手刃之，眾知其心，率皆藏竄。 When the Prince of Lu reached Shanzhou, he summoned all his courtesans and concubines to bid farewell, intending to kill them with his own hand. Everyone knew his intent and mostly hid themselves away.

初，潞王失守於河中，勒歸於清化裏第。 Earlier, when the Prince of Lu lost his post at Hezhong, he was compelled to return to his residence in Qinghua Lane.

時王淑妃恒令漢瓊傳教旨於潞王，王善待之，故漢瓊自謂潞王於己有恩。 At that time Consort Wang Shufei constantly had Hanqiong convey imperial instructions to the Prince of Lu, and the prince treated him well. Hanqiong therefore considered that the Prince of Lu owed him a debt of gratitude.

至是，乃單騎至澠池謁見潞王，因自慟哭，欲有所陳。 At this point he rode alone to Mianchi to have an audience with the Prince of Lu, whereupon he wept bitterly, wishing to say something.

潞王曰：「諸事不言可知。」 The Prince of Lu said, "Of all matters, none need be spoken to be understood."
