世祖大明初，坐要引上左右俞欣之訪評殿省內事，又與弟西陽王文學勃忿鬩不睦，坐徙始興郡，勃免官禁錮。 Early in Emperor Xiaowu's Daming era, Mu was exiled to Shixing for drawing the emperor's attendant Yu Xin into discussions of inner-palace affairs and for feuding with his younger brother Bo, literary attendant to the prince of Xiyang. Bo was dismissed and barred from office.
