從劉文靜拒屈突通於潼關，文靜為通將桑顯和所襲，軍營已潰，志玄率二十騎赴擊，殺數十人而還。 At Tong Pass, when Liu Wenjing's camp collapsed under Sang Xianhe, Zhixuan charged with twenty riders, killed dozens, and withdrew.

及屈突通之遁，志玄與諸將追而擒之，以功授樂游府驃騎將軍。 When Qutu Tong fled, Zhixuan with the generals pursued and captured him; for merit he was appointed Flying Cavalry General of the Leyou garrison.
