三十三年，江南學政缺，上欲用隴其，侍臣奏隴其已卒，乃用邵嗣堯，嗣堯故與隴其同以清廉行取者也。 In 1694 the Jiangnan education post fell vacant; the emperor wanted Longqi, but was told he had died, so Shao Siyao was appointed—another man who had entered the capital on a reputation for integrity like Longqi's.
