少暤氏之衰也，九黎亂德，民神雜擾，不可放物，禍菑薦至，莫盡其氣。 When the Shaohao clan declined, the Nine Li threw virtue into disorder. People and spirits were mixed together in confusion; things could not be properly regulated; disasters and calamities came repeatedly, and none could fully express their vital force.
