帝報之曰：「夷門，太祖創業之地，居天下之衝，北拒並、汾，東至淮海，國家藩鎮，多在厥東，命將出師，利於便近，若都洛下，非良圖也。 The Emperor answered: "Yimen is Taizu's foundation, the crossroads of the empire—blocking Shanxi in the north, reaching the coast in the east; most commands lie eastward, and campaigns are easier from there—Luoyang would be a poor capital.

重念太祖皇帝，嘗開霸府，有事四方。 We remember Taizu opening the hegemon's office and campaigning in every direction.

此際值先皇寢疾，大漸日臻，博王乃密上封章，請嚴宮禁，因以萊州刺史授於郢王友珪，才睹宣頭，俄行大逆。 As the late Emperor lay dying, Prince of Bo secretly asked to seal the palace and gave Yougui the Laizhou post—hardly was the order read when the atrocity struck.
