越三年，再起，召見，奏對稱旨，皇太后獎其明慎，即日授四川按察使，未到官，遷福建布政使。 Three years later he was recalled, impressed the court in audience, and was praised by the Empress Dowager for clarity and prudence. The same day he was named judicial commissioner of Sichuan, but before taking office was transferred to provincial treasurer of Fujian.
