唐中和四年五月，同尚讓、李讜等率眾至繁台，與太祖之軍相拒。 In the fifth month of Zhonghe 4 he joined Shang Rang, Li Dang, and others at Fantai to face the Founder's army.

太祖素識之，拔用不次，署為先鋒步軍都頭。 The Founder already knew him and promoted him out of turn, making him vanguard infantry commander.

太祖大舉伐宗權，俾重胤以滑兵為先鋒。 When the Founder launched a major campaign against Zongquan, he put Chongyin and the Huazhou troops in the vanguard.

太祖謂諸將曰：「李讜、重胤違我節度，不能立功，頗辜任使。」 The Founder told his generals: "Li Dang and Chongyin disobeyed my orders and won no merit—they have badly failed the trust I placed in them."

事太祖，初為隊將，從討巢、蔡有功。 Serving the Founder, he began as a squad commander and won merit in the campaigns against Chao and Cai.

太祖迎昭宗於岐下，以居實為河中馬軍都指揮使。 When the Founder welcomed Zhaozong at Qixia, he made Jushi cavalry commander of Hezhong.
