建中中，田悅反，圍邢及臨洺，詔抱真與河東馬燧合神策兵救之，敗悅於雙岡，斬其將楊朝光，又破之臨洺，遂解臨洺、邢之圍。 During the Jianzhong era Tian Yue rebelled and besieged Xing and Linming. Baozhen joined Ma Sui of Hedong and the Shence army in relief, defeated Yue at Shuanggang, beheaded his general Yang Chaoguang, routed him again at Linming, and lifted both sieges.

復與悅戰洹水，走之。 He fought Yue again on the Huan River and drove him off.

進圍魏，悅戰城下，大敗。 Pressing the siege of Wei, he defeated Yue in battle below the walls.

會硃滔、王武俊反，救悅，抱真退保魏。 When Zhu Tao and Wang Wujun rebelled to rescue Yue, Baozhen fell back to defend Wei.
