有司錄其戰功,將加柱國,賜物五千段,頒固辭曰:「臣緣國威靈,得雪怨恥,本心徇私,非是為國,所加官賞,終不敢當。」 The authorities recorded his battle achievements and proposed to make him a Pillar of State and grant him five thousand rolls of goods. Ban firmly declined: "Through the state's awesome authority I was able to settle my grievance; my heart was bent on private revenge, not on serving the state. The offices and rewards you would bestow I dare not accept."
