乾化元年正月，王景仁與晉人戰於柏鄉，王師敗績，河朔大震。 In the first month of Qianhua 1, Wang Jingren fought the Jin at Baixiang; the imperial army was routed and Hebei was shaken.

景仁與眾為敵騎所追，檀嚴設備，應接敗軍，助以資裝，獲濟者甚眾。 Jingren and his men were chased by enemy horse; Tan stood ready, received the fugitives, and supplied them so that many escaped.
